Safety and club rules

Unicycling is a fun activity but can also be dangerous. We ask all members to follow our safety and club rules.

  • The gym is for unicycling activities only; no one is to participate in activities other than unicycling for example: running, climbing or non-unicycle ball games.

  • When not unicycling, members are expected to sit in the benched area in the gym. There should be no congregating either in the foyer, in the toilets or outside the gym.

  • Sensible clothes must be worn whilst riding. Particular attention should be paid to trouser length and shoe laces. Members and their parents should be responsible for ensuring trousers and laces are suitable for riding and will not get caught in the wheel or around the pedals.

  • All children must have adult/parental supervision at all times. Failure to provide this will result in exclusion from the club.

  • All club equipment and the gym must be treated with care and respect. Any purposeful damage will result in costs being sought from the member responsible.

  • We expect co-operation and committment from members, respect for the club rules and each other

The duc accepts no responsibility for injury sustained at the club. Unicycling can be dangerous and wrist, knee and elbow protectors are available on request. The duc recommends the use of safety protection including the use of cycle helmets. Members who wish not to wear protective equipment do so by their own choice
